Web Design

Web design-

encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites.

The different areas of web design include web graphic design; interface design; authoring, including standardised code and proprietary software; user experience design; and search engine optimization. People often will work in teams covering different aspects of the design process, although some designers will cover them all.The term web design is normally used to describe the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of a website including writing mark up. Web design partially overlaps web engineering in the broader scope of web development.Web designers are expected to have an awareness of usability and if their role involves creating mark up then they are also expected to be up to date with web accessibility guidelines

Netiquette

Netiquette

Netiquette the correct or acceptable way of communicating on the Internet. Good netiquette is important because if one of your employers see how you communicate to others it will decide whether or not you get the job. You would use Netiquette when talking to an employee or your employer. You would also use Netiquette on public social media post so if your employer were to search your social media account you would want him/her to see positive things about you.

Digital footprint

Digital footprint

digital footprint is the data trail left by the interactions in a digital environment; including the use of TVmobile phone, the World Wide Web, the internet and other connected devices and sensors. Digital Footprints provide data on what has been performed in the digital environment (e.g. what you clicked on, searched for, Liked, where you went, your location, your IP address, what you said, what was said about you); and the data can be used in behavioural targetingbehavioral economics, targeted marketing, digital reputationsocial Influence and other social media or social graphing services. In social media
t: 19px; text-align: -webkit-auto;">, a digital footprint can refer to the size of a person's "online presence" measured by the number of individuals with whom they interact.

I think my own digital footwork is good because I do not have a facebook and on other social media websites I do not use my name so it's impossible to find me. It doesn't matter who I personally associate with because you can not find me other than that you will just find my basketball stats.

Academic integrity And Plagiarism

Academic integrity is the moral code or ethical policy of academia. This includes values such as avoidance of cheating or plagiarism; maintenance of academic standards; honesty and rigour in research and academic publishing.

During the late 18th century, academic integrity tightly correlated to the southern honor code. This was monitored mainly by the students and surrounding culture of the time. The southern honor code focused on duty, pride, power, and self-esteem. Any act promoting the up rising or building of any of these within an individual was the goal. Thus, academic integrity was tied solely to the status and appearance of up standing character of the individual. Any acts of academic dishonesty performed to maintain their good name was seen as a necessary means to an end.
Academic integrity essentially means "intellectual honesty": honesty in the use of information, in formulating arguments, and in other activities related to the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. It is a core principle that underpins how we live and learn in a community of inquiry. As members of an academic community, we are entitled to a wide degree of freedom in the pursuit of scholarly interests. With that freedom, however, comes the responsibility to uphold the high ethical standards of academic conduct. American University's Academic Integrity Code sets forth standards of academic conduct, defines academic violations, and outlines the adjudication process for academic offenses.

Plagiarism is the "wrongful appropriation" and "purloining and publication" of another author's "language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions," and the representation of them as one's own original work. The idea remains problematic with unclear definitions and unclear rules.

In order to understand plagiarism, it helps to understand the process of sharing and creating ideas in the university. All knowledge is built from previous knowledge. As we read, study, perform experiments, and gather perspectives, we are drawing on other people’s ideas. Building on their ideas and experiences, we create our own. When you put your ideas on paper, your instructors want to distinguish between the building block ideas borrowed from other people and your own newly reasoned perspectives or conclusions. You make these distinctions in a written paper by citing the sources for your building block ideas. Providing appropriate citations will also help readers who are interested in your topic find additional, related material to read—in this way, they will be able to build on the work you have done to find sources.

Blogging

what is a blog?
a blog is a personal website or web page on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis.

On twitter I follow Stephen A. Smith and the NBA. Once in awhile I would check the ESPN blog on basketball. Blogging can be use to support the learning process in our class because if someone was to have problem and blogged about it someone else that already solved can comment on it and helped them.
